Auctions America Kicks Off Their Collector Car Season in Fort Lauderdale

Auctions America began another exciting year of classic cars sales, with their annual event in Fort Lauderdale, FL. In its 13th year, this three-day auction was held at the Greater Fort Lauderdale/Boward County Convention Center from Friday, March 27 through Sunday, March 29. Of the 500 cars offered at this year's sale, approximately 85 were from private collections. The sales leader, a 1962 Ferrari 250 GT, which sold for $715,000 (including sale commission), was from the Cayman Museum Collection. Other highlights included the sale of a one-of-a-kind 1964 ½ Mustang prototype called “Shorty”, and the charity auction of a 1934 Ford Street Rod, with proceeds going to the Boys & Girls Clubs of Broward County.
