Auctions America began another exciting year of classic cars sales, with their annual event in Fort Lauderdale, FL. In its 13th year, this three-day auction was held at the Greater Fort Lauderdale/Boward County Convention Center from Friday, March 27 through Sunday, March 29. Of the 500 cars offered at this year's sale, approximately 85 were from private collections. The sales leader, a 1962 Ferrari 250 GT, which sold for $715,000 (including sale commission), was from the Cayman Museum Collection. Other highlights included the sale of a one-of-a-kind 1964 ½ Mustang prototype called “Shorty”, and the charity auction of a 1934 Ford Street Rod, with proceeds going to the Boys & Girls Clubs of Broward County.
