October, 2016 -- It was full speed ahead all weekend for another great Goodguys event -- the 23rd Southeastern Nationals in Charlotte. There was so much to see and do, so we put on our walking shoes, loaded up on sun screen, made sure our camera batteries were charged and ready to go, and began our adventure early Friday morning. We didn't stop until after the awards ceremony on Sunday, so we have lots to share with you. Here is some of the action that we know you will enjoy as much as we did.
Over 2,500 rods, classics, muscle cars, and trucks through 1972 made their way to Charlotte to participate in the Show ‘n Shine. And, as is the tradition at Goodguys events, on “All American Sunday” all American made or powered cars and trucks were part of Sunday's celebration of cars.
One of the most popular events for participants and spectators is always the Goodguys AutoCross, where registrants get the opportunity to put their classics and muscle cars through their paces on a timed course run. And, they get to test their skills behind the wheel, as well.
Another featured event that is a favorite of both spectators and participants is the Cruise Under the Lights! Registered cars have the opportunity to take their car out on the Speedway's oval track, just like the NASCAR guys. Some of these guys really put the pedal to the metal.
