Best in Show at the 25th Amelia Island Concours
The Amelia Island’s Concours d’Elegance (The Amelia) showcases a variety of rare classics from around the world, which includes elegant cars such as the Delahaye and Duesenberg, as well as some of the most historically significant race cars in existence. Selecting Best in Show from such a diverse field can be challenging. “You can’t compare a Duesenberg SJ to a race car. It’s like comparing apples to oranges, so we have two Best in Shows,” said Bill Warner, Founder and Chairman of The Amelia. That’s what makes The Amelia unique to other Concours. Best in Show, Concours de Sport honors the best race car on the field, and Best in Show, Concours d’Elegance honors the best road car on the field.
At this year’s Amelia Island 25th Anniversary Concours, a 1973 Porsche 917/30 Can-Am Spyder was chosen as Best in Show Concours de Sport and a 1929 Duesenberg J-218 Limousine was crowned Best in Show Concours d’Elegance.
