Proving that timing is everything, I received my first driving license driving during the height of the Muscle Car era, and like everyone else my age, owning one of these high-performance vehicles was a top priority. In the summer of ’69, it all came together when I was able to walk into my local Ford dealership and purchase a brand new Candy Apple Red 1969 Mustang Mach 1. I have since wondered if it was me or my car that my wife was attracted to, but regardless, it became our personal time machine, as we clocked a lot of miles along with many great memories. Now, more than 50 years later, “Time Machine,” as we have appropriately named it, is still part of our family, and we can’t imagine it being any other way!
Our passion for classic cars is due in large part to our ’69 Mach 1. It has contributed to our desire to learn more about the history of the evolution of the automobile – from the Brass Era of motorcars to the latest crop of classic cars being built today. Fortunately, many classic car events are held every year, providing us with opportunities to see historically significant vehicles, as well as totally customized new builds. We created eclassicautos.com to share our discoveries through photographs and videos, and to tell you a little of the story behind the event and/or cars that we encounter. In the process, we are recording snapshots of these classics that will someday themselves be interesting pieces of the automobile history.
