Engine: 3.8L V8Transmission: 4-Speed Automatic

Features/History
This classic European sports roadster is dressed in silver blue paint and has gray leather interior. It has a removable hard top, a new-looking blue soft top, and is loaded with the standard option package available in these luxury models. The owner has also added the optional rear jump seat with seat belts. Turn the key, and the engine starts immediately. All gauges in the car are functional.
This 380SL, which has always been registered in the central Virginia area, was previously owned by a lady who pampered it for its first 12 years until it was purchased by the current owner who used it for ‘recreational cruising’ on good weather days. For the last 3 years, it has been driven only occasionally and stored indoors under a cover. The owner reports that it has received necessary maintenance while in his possession, including the upgrade to a dual timing chain, and a new battery less than 2 years old. A copy of the original window sticker, invoice for the optional rear jump seat, service invoice for the dual timing chain replacement, as well as general service invoices are provided below.
Overall Condition
As shown in the below photos, the car has that distinctive Mercedes-Benz style in a sporty convertible platform. A closer inspection reveals signs of some age, including spots in the paint (may buff out), minor nicks, and at least one paint crack. There are no indications that there have been any body repairs, and all bright works seem to be in good condition, requiring only some TLC to clean up. The car has maintained its original wheels, which could use some restoration work to better accent the roadster’s appearance. The engine compartment and trunk areas are typical of a car of its age. Under the trunk mat, the spare tire and wheel look brand new, apparently having never been used. Inside, the interior looks all original with signs of some wear but no damage, although there are some small cracks in the center console wood trim.
Notably, the sun visor attachments, which are plastic pieces, are broken and need to be replaced. Also, the A/C, which has been upgraded to R134A, doesn’t currently work, although it did prior to the car being put into recent storage.
This original ‘Gentlemen’s Roadster’ is ready to be enjoyed as is, or it provides a solid platform for any level of restoration.
