This is a mildly customized “Shoebox” Ford that is driven on a regular basis since its modifications 5 years ago. It starts without hesitation, idles smoothly, and easily cruises at highway speed.
Starting with Ford’s new postwar design, mechanical components were updated by incorporating more modern parts that are readily serviceable today. The owner/builder’s goal was to build a very reliable vehicle while still having the classic look of period customs. Since the owner built the coupe for himself, over the years he has had time to sort out any issues that may have arisen. Therefore, this Shoebox is ready to enjoy as is. It is also important to note that the owner/builder is a professional auto mechanic with years of hands-on experience.
