1947 Dodge Truck with Industrial Hemi
Not all custom rides are built by hot rod shops. In fact, most classics are home-built, at least in part by their owners. Although almost all vehicles at a gathering of hot rods have stories, some owners have both an interesting tale as well as rare insights into motoring history. This was the case when walking the show field at the 2023 Goodguys Nationals.
Although at first glance, this Dodge looked like just another rat rod, its first-generation Hemi valve covers, labeled “Chrysler Industrial,” required a double take. In the below video, the builder, Gary Bogart of Columbus, OH, provided details about this strange beast and told us how both Craig’s List and eBay played a role in his labor of love.
